Custom School Sport Shorts
Students from Brisbane based girls school Stuartholme reported that their school sport shorts were uncomfortable. Not only that but there were impacting their ability to perform well on the sporting field.
On the hunt for a solution, Stuartholme’s uniform convenor engaged Red Oak Uniforms. We were tasked with overhauling their outdated sports shorts. These old style shorts were made from a non-stretch, restrictive microfibre fabric that did not breathe.
Thanks to our work with major sportswear brands in Australia, we had already developed a 4 way stretch microfibre. This is ideal for athletics as the fabric is both cool and very comfortable to wear.
Our STRETCH MICROFIBRE is now a firm favourite with many schools around the country using it for their sports shorts.
How We Work With Schools
Stuartholme selected a short design from Red Oak’s range. Because ease of movement was so important to them, we then modified it to include side vents and a stretch printed logo.
The result was fabulous fitting comfortable shorts that the girls now love to compete in – a huge improvement on their old style!
Custom Formal School Shorts

This was the design of choice for Noosa District High School as they wanted to be in keeping with the atmosphere of their coastal location.
For a more formal look, our pleated style was the first choice for Groves Christian College in Brisbane. These shorts feature a slashed pocket on the back, creating a smarter look. These shorts were designed to be worn with a belt, formal shirt and tie.
Both of these short styles use a hard wearing fade resistant poly viscose – ideal for a long lasting uniform.
